Introducing the latest iteration of Linn’s reference turntable, Klimax LP12.
Klimax LP12 produces even more musical pitch-perfect performance thanks to Linn’s new Radikal. This is achieved as a result of its its hyper-accurate speed management technology, whisper-quiet power supply rails and cutting-edge motor design; the culmination of which led to their breakthrough cartridge, Ekstatik.
Radikal
The new Radikal generates a sustained and uniform rotation closer to 33⅓ rpm than any other turntable. The FPGA managed motor control unit and the latest, precision engineered motor technology work in unison to produce an ultra-smooth rotation, with their lowest drift measurements ever.
Radikal’s cutting-edge DC motor design generates negligible electromagnetic interference, effectively eliminating it as a sound of distortion. The motor itself features lower-noise voltage regulators, and smaller components, making everything electrically quieter than ever too.
An all-new 6-layer board facilitates shorter signal paths, small componentry, and minimal overall noise via dedicated ground and power planes. This improved board design sits at the heart of new Radikal, yielding their all-time lowest noise floor.
Ekstatik
Ekstatik, Linn’s new flagship cartridge sets a new bar for synergy between the arm and cartridge. The unique construction forges a harmonious synergy with the Ekos SE, removing unwanted resonances along the arm, and out through the sub-chassis. Aluminium-bronze inserts allow Ekstatik to reap the sonic benefits Linn found that this alloy possess.
A micro-ridge stylus on a sapphire cantilever makes for an extraordinarily responsive cartridge. The sapphire is far stiffer than boron or aluminium, eliciting less loss between the stylus and the generator.

Klimax LP12 is further enhanced by the very best Sondek LP12 components;
Keel – Integrated sub-chassis, armboard and tonearm collar
Machined from a solid piece of aluminium, Keel provides extremely rigid support to the tonearm and platter. Screws, fixings and joins between each component have been eliminated; removing virtually all vibrations.
Ekos SE – Flagship tonearm
Advanced materials have been carefully selected for their sound performance and low resonance properties. These minimise interference and resonance. The arm tube is machined from titanium to reduce resonance, while a stainless steel bearing housing ensures precision of movement.
Urika/Urika II
Analogue – Thanks to its location within the Sondek LP12 plinth itself, cable length (and therefore signal loss and noise) is at an absolute minimum. A dual mono design banishes any potential crosstalk.
Digital – A breakthrough in phono stage design, Urika II uses cutting-edge digital signal processing technology to implement the RIAA curve in the digital domain. This results in even lower distortion, lower noise and more music.
We feel this is the best musical performance Linn have ever achieved and is the new standard for LP replay.
